FAQs
Do I need a prescription for physical therapy? Yes. You will need a prescription, diagnosis from your treating physician(s) and a referral if required by your medical plan. What insurance plans do you accept? MSMPT accepts most insurance plans. Click the link to view a listing of current plans and feel free to call us to inquire about any plan not on our list. Will I be treated by the same physical therapist at each appointment? Yes. Your assigned physical therapist will treat you at every session. At times due to vacation or sick days, you will be given the option to utilize the services of another of our trained therapists. How often should I have physical therapy? Your treating physician can best address this per your particular needs. However, three visits per week are usually ideal and two visits per week is the recommended minimum. Your physical therapist will closely monitor your progress and may reduce the frequency of visits as your condition improves. What should I wear to my physical therapy session? You can easily change clothes in our private therapy rooms. For treatment of knee problems, shorts are recommended. For other conditions, loose fitting tops and sweat pants or sweat suits are recommended. We also supply examination gowns when particular treatments call for it. Is there anything I can do at home between my appointments? Based upon your specific condition, your physical therapist will create a home exercise routine to aid in your improvement. Do you treat older patients? At MSMPT our qualified physical therapists have an understanding of the special needs of senior citizens. We are well-prepared to assist these patients and their particular issues. What is your cancellation policy? Please call 24 hours or one business day prior to your appointment to avoid a late cancellation/no show charge. For hours, location & travel information, please refer to our Contact page. I have more questions. What should I do? Please do not hesitate to call us!
